Here is my question I took the radio oudt of my van and put in my basement later I hooked to a power supply when I turned it on the fuse blew. Replced fuse and it blew too. Where would I look for the problem? I'm nodt good width eletronics.

Is it hooked up right to the power supply? Red to + and black to -.

QRN, I'm not sure it was hooked up right. When the secound fuse went I unhlooked it and I just didn't look at it close.

maybe it got hooked up backwards and you smoked the polarity protection diode.

I will say 98% he did blow it...
the other % ,little elfs cam in and updated the output section
and now, he needs a bigger amped fuse

do I check it? The only Thing I have is a DVOM.

unsolder 1 side of the diode,lift the leg up
set the meter for diode check or the lowest ohm reading
pos on one side of the diode neg on the other
change wires around if it 0's out on the meter then its no good
you should get a high reading on one side of the diode and no reading on the other side if it is good...but believe me its bad and if not .well your looking at a power regulator then..<..which ain't easy to pop
