When i turn on my galaxy 66 it goes slowly thrue the frequencies untill it gets to the channel i have selected. None of my friends galaxy have this problem. It also will start drifting frequencies and i tap it and usualy goes back to normal.

Anyone have any idea what to do to correct this problem?

I would start by checking for bad solder joint or another thing to look at is the crystals. I had one that started doing that then slowly got worse turn out to be a bad crystal alot of galaxy's will drift unless you realign it with a scope.

Yeah, a bad solder joint is a likely culprit. Check the solder joints arount the PLL chip, the crystals, and also the LCD display. It could also be a bad crystal.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
