I have a 959 and the driver and final has no numbers or marking as to what they are.. How do you know what is in it? It was made 7\10. I check and all the parts are still in it that was to be removed when replaceing 1969 with a mosfet.. Any help appreciated!!
Thanks
Frank

Others can confirm this, but if it's manufacture date is July 2010, it is already equipped with a Mosfet.

Notice the manufacture date on this 959 - 9/07. Now a quote from the review:

These radios used to come equipped with 1969 finals but now are being made with the mosfet transistors. I did have a chance to use one with the newer transistors and found that the mosfet equipped radios will have around 5-8 watts more peak output on average.

Yeah you're good to go

And mosfets are better. More power and bigger swing = LOUDER = better for barefoot or driving an amp either one.

With a proper peak & tune that 959 can do around 35 watts p.e.p. May want to then add a heat sink to the back.

Good luck

Mosfets aren't louder, that's just silly. Mosfets do not handle abuse and heat like the 1969s do.....but they do more peak watts.
