Galaxy DX2517 Ten Meters

How were the audio reports? could they tell it was a "CB"
oh i see they said it sounds good. That must be one heck of a tech. Hey do you use an external Frequency counter i know the 2517 is a 5 digit counter right?

I do not use an external freq counter, I just leave the "fine" clarifier locked at 12 oclock, then tune to ear with the course clarifier.

Yes, SS8541 is an awesome tech.

And yes, Galaxy radios have very good sounding audio in all modes, as long as they haven't had a tweaker inside of them. All that swing mod crap is for the birds. Have a good tech set it up and it will sound great.

It is maybe the only one in the country set up this way--it has other mods that have been done--The AM mod transistor upgrade, the voltage regulator upgrade, the 2sc2999 RX mod, and the shotky diode mods for AM detection and NB circuits has been done. Not to mention a full alignment and tuneup with real test equipment, not some yahoo with a Dosy!

All done by 8541 electronics.

Hopefully you can hear it on the air sometime, I know you'll have a whole new outlook on Galaxy.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
