My Saturn's frequency counter is on frequency, but one of the leds is out, making an 8 look like a 0.

Can the lights be changed out/ can I get another freq counter installed?
Or will I just have to deal with it? lol

-Any answers a good answer.
Thanks

The LED digit is all that needs to be changed assuming the segment is burnt out. Other possibilities are a cold solder joint on the LED pin or the chips output that turns on the segment has a problem. My guess is the LED digit needs to be changed.

would an external freq counter for a galaxy 949 plug into the fc board inside the Saturn if the segment fix didn't work?

does not count frequency.
Sure it does, just with some added arithmetic. Discovered an odd quirk in the Galaxy FC-390 external 'display' a while back. Has two wires to select the IF offset, For AM, leave both wires alone. For USB, feed 8 Volts to the yellow wire. For LSB the orange wire. IF you feed both wires, the offset changes to zero, and it becomes a straight frequency counter. Definitely an undocumented feature.
