RCI2990 is the closest equivalent. It's a 2950 radio with a two-by-2SC2290 amplifier and (most likely) the suicidal power supply with the heavy 60-Hz transformer. We have insisted on changing the power supply to a chinesium switchmode brick for decades now.
Best course of action is to bypass the power supply and see if you can power it from an external DC supply. Will need to be rated for 25 Amps or better to key the mike. To just run it on receive alone won't require more than one Amp more or less. This would at least let you find out if the power supply has also assassinated the radio's computer. That particular risk is why we adopted the policy of replacing that power supply. The switchmode brick supplies have protection from overload/overvoltage. The factory power supply did not. It would fail by pumping 24 Volts DC into the 12-Volt radio. The computer was frequently the first casualty. If that's blown, finding a replacement will require turning over rocks. A lot of them, most likely.
Here's a cheapo fleabay supply like we use.

A search will turn up fancier and more-expensive options.
To test the radio alone, find the tiny circuit board connected to the orange and black wires from the two fat filter capacitors. At the inboard end of this board you'll find a fat orange wire and a thinner red wire with teflon insulation on the corner of the board. Unplug them both, and connect them to the positive side of your external power supply. The negative side goes to any black wire on either of the fat filter capacitors.
If it will come alive and receive the channel it's supposed to be on without overloading the power supply, you're good to go. If your external supply has enough rating, key the mike and see what power you get.
We'll skip unplugging the keying wire that activates the linear for now.
But that's our routine to see what's alive before spending money on this model.
Here's a link to the mobile version. Has the same linear and main circuit board.
