I have a problem with a galaxy saturn connected to a linear amplifier and a match box. Gradually the saturn stopped to modulate the voice, so now in ssb band it doesn't transmit and in AM/FM bands transmit only carrier. I have opened the galaxy and saw that a component on the pcb has been fused. It should be a toko rcl coil (pass band filter). I'm waiting for schematics of galaxy to know which specifics this component has exactly. How could it happened? Only recently I knew that the linear amplifier has maximum input at 5 Watts in AM/FM and 10 in SSB band, while I used it with 10 Watts in AM/FM and 21 in SSB; could this be the reason? I think the the amplifier should have been damaged and not the saturn. And then where must I put the match box? Between saturn and amplifier or after amplifier? And shall I consider calibrating and ROS of the saturn or the ROS after the amplifier since they are little different?
Finally, I discover that putting the channel selector between 2 positions the saturn goes to a frequency to 25 Mhz (the band is between 26 and 2<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/glasses.gif ALT="8)"> ; could the usage of this frequency cause the damage? Thank you.
