IMG_20200917_203024149.jpgWell Radio Friend's,I'm in process of putting a compact CB in my car hooked up to a Wilson 1000,and I'll be using a Rk 56 or a Cobra power Mike, haven't decided which mic to use with this radio!! Had originally thought about either getting another Uniden 980 or using the Ranger 2950 that I have sitting around in the closet, but I decided to go Simple with the mobile unit, just wanted something that I can use to get traffic reports and so forth!! Will post some pics when the install is complete!!
By the way has anyone used this radio by chance?? Just curious............

Where the West Begins.
Bought on a whim, eh? (makes you unique around this place).

I thought the U980 was simple. (If you leave the ft450d at home).

I’ve looked at the small ones like that, but wondered if reception was going to be an irritant (if RF Gain & Squelch are meaningfully good).

Mag-mount antenna? Cigar-lighter power cord? That’s my other concern (not an opinion on what you want) as metro areas are already too durned noisy.

As a truck driver, it’s the sheer distance away from a problem which creates or disappears options. Choices. “Traffic Report” (to me) means more than there’s a slowdown ahead. Being on a clock sharpens this desire to have advance notice.

Give yourself some goals (tests).

I’d pair any mobile radio with the West Mountain Radio ClearSpeech DSP Speaker as it’s a game-changer. I feel the same about using an RM Italy KL203 amp.

Hear, and Get Heard

This wouldn't change were I an ordinary commuter.

I can see the appeal of an extra-small radio. But I’d want “relative” comparisons to try against it (my other radios).

A PRESIDENT Bill fits the picture I have of “small”. Its cousins in price & size ,also

A quality external speaker — any description — would be important to ascertain “rig quality”. I’d like to have the stereo on, perhaps, with the CB muted to listen for key words. If the built-in speaker does this, that’s ideal.

My first thought was the i.r.s. may be interested in a long term money making scam without proper taxes being paid..probably more than electronics involved.

My first thought was why hasn't someone paid him a visit. I mean, his address is posted above.

Good news! I opened an appeal case after eBay sided with superhawkwss6. I also opened an IC3 case & sent that information to eBay. Within an hour they responded, reversed their decision and returned all of my money. Unfortunately, superhawkwss6 stole my CB radio and eBay will likely not suspend or close his account, but rather allow him to continue his criminal activity. I think I'll still file a report with our sheriff's dept (the sheriff is a friend of mine) though I know this type of crime isn't worth their time. This guy needs to be stopped and I'm certainly going to do my best to make that happen.
