Has anyone else read through this book?

I recently found this at a local thrift shop

Has anyone read through it? From what I've seen it has alot of good information on specific things such as resistors and even goes into amp building. Is there a better source of information available?
Am I getting over my head in information?

It's not exactly light reading but it can be a great reference even for beginners.
