Hi, Specifically the Cobra Dynamike Plus CB Base Station Microphone Voice Compression Amplifier CA-72 ? ?

I'm curious about the CA-61 or even the CA-60 but I'm more interested in the CA-72 and would like some reliable feedback please with some radio conbinations etc......

All my base CB's are wired for mostly 4 and 5 pin Cobra/Galaxy type mic wiring from the inside of the radio for all practical purposes for switching my desk mics around...

Thanks very much for some insight - Retro Jim

Didn't you ask this once before?

I liked the CA -72 but it didn't work real well with radios that had a built in compressor such as the 135. For radios that already had an internal mic gain it was a bit of overkill.

They aren't a bad mike, but they wouldn't be my first choice in setting up a vintage station. Depending on the radio I'd be more inclined to go with a D-104 or perhaps one of the classic Turner desk mics. If you can find one, a Turner Sidekick 100 (predecessor to the Super Sidekick) is an outstanding mic. The Plus 3-Bs aren't bad either.

Yeah Atlasta, I'm trying to hunt down a top real nice Turner Plus 3B but I didn't know about the Sidekick 100 hmmmm sounds interesting ! But yeah, I've been pondering over buying a CA-72 on eBay but I think it's over priced but now with your input, I'll likely not get it more so now. I have mostly vintage deluxe 40 channel SSB base radios.

Thanks very much and yeah I just missed out on an auction by a dollar lol...

For a real nice plus 3B I'd give up to $50 bucks there abouts depending on the condition..

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
