It's starting to get crazy out there with the fake branded gear. You have to be REALLY careful and use a little common sense and good judgement when buying radio gear off Ebay and some online stores. If you see something that does not look quite right check into it deeper. A quick Google search for this "Kenwood" TH-8900 reveiled at least three or four identical radios each with the 8900 model number yet made by someone different. TYT is the biggest culprit in most cases. They make three "Kenwood" radios all with the same model number yet each radio covers a different band. One is 2m, one is 1.25m, and the other is 70cm. All the same model number and identical looking. When was the last time a major REAL manufacturer did that with the possible exception of some commercial radios that had to be ordered to cover a specific portion of a band?
Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
