You're right, Sonwatcher. KH7 used to be the exclusive prefix for Kure, but now the official DXCC List shows Kure as KH7K__, so an actual Kure station would likely have a two-letter suffix: KH7KA, KH7KB, etc.

Man! The rules change fast! And I used to know all of the USSR prefixes before we won the Cold War :x

Kure Island...

I decommissioned USCG LORAN Station Kure Island back in 1991-92 and made a few MARS phone patches from there...
