I have a SB-200 and without going into a lot unnecessary detail it had a power surge with the power was shut and turned back on. I rebuilt the power supply board (from Jeff Harbach) beacause that is what he said was wrong when it wouldn't even light the meter up. It still didn't come on, so my question is what else could have been knocked out with this power surge? thanks for all the help in advance

The transformer's primary winding, circuit breakers, power switch and power cord are all that's left to blame.

A check of continuity across the prongs the plug at the end of the power cord will show if all those elements are in the circuit when the power switch is on.

And if you get no continuity, one or more of those parts of the amplifier's power supply have taken a hike. Circuit breakers don't last forever. Especially when they get to be 40-plus years old. That surge could have assassinated one or both of them. Power switch is also subject to surge damage.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
