Rebuilding a SB 200 for AM. Have installed a new capacitor broad i got from ebay. I was wondering about any good tips i might need too do to it to make it a stronger amp. Not sure about drive watts i should use? Any tips will be helpful. Jim/238

572B not a very good tube for AM use
tends to get hot.
bias it with a zener or string of diodes to lower the idle current.
I wouldn't use any more than 50 watts PEP for drive.
Add additional cooling to move the heat .
Watch over driving the grid, I think the grid resistors 32 ohm???
have a tendency to open when over driven.
the ten meter tuned input leaves a lot to be desired.
you may need to rework it to get an acceptable input impedance.
Good little table top SSB amps.
I see around 500 watts on ssb 100 watts drive on 10 meters depending on tubes and line voltage.
50 watts peak drive you should see around 300 to 400 depending on your meter which should
not abuse the tubes to much.
the current production of 572b from china have bad reviews for quality.
I think W8JI is selling 572B tested for quality on his site. I read that somewhere.
