Hi!
New Radio - fairly new ham. Computer experienced, military vet (helos) airline pilot - used to imbedded menus.
Trying to get 897D into Repeater mode and then set CTSS so I can participate in local nets.

Followed menus:

1) Press F key, then rotate Mem/VFO until RPT REV VOX appears
2) One press of "A" sets Minus Shift. And a '-' should appear.

The '-' does not show on the screen, BUT there is no 'beep' when I press the A button.
I have tried other menu modes and all the other menus work so far with a confirming 'beep' when I press an A,B, or C button.

Also cannot get into CTSS for same reason.

Someone mentioned that the machine might be in ARS mode (ARTS?) and that going back into ARS (?) and out might solve problem.

Thanks ALL

Wayne

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
