Well as an OEM who started small I have to say your conjecture about builders generally not caring, to sum rhem up. Would only come from someone who has never designed, built and attached their name or 'Brand' to it.

There's far easier ways to make money then successfully selling electronics to a population who couldn't make a paperclip to save their life. Now that's a big ass generalization and market wide and comes from experience.

Does anyone know where the retailers are getting these hg2879 transistors from? Id like to get a bunch in. Can't seem to find anything that hasn't already been marked up by US based companies.
