My hands hurt, but it was worth it. Earlier today I discovered that work threw away some old cat 3. Thats my favorite hookup wire. Solid core, stays where you bend it. This represents a life supply for my hobby use.
The nice thing about this wire is that the twists per inch are low enough that single strands can be pulled out without it being curly. Straight in the trunk it went.
But then my day got better. In the bottom of the barrel was a few dozen 6 foot pieces of cat 5. I couldnt see it go to the dump so I peeled the jacket off all of it. Now I have several lifetimes worth of wire!
I have enough to use it as twine now. I wonder how much would fit in one of those little flat rate boxes.
