My wireless network detector says it has detected 4 different wireless network in range two secured and two unsecured. I guess I could connect to the unsecured networks if I wanted to but its not my thing and I have no need to.

The 2.4 ghz band is also the 13 cm Ham band and Amatuers are the primary service which means it is open season for 802.11 signal hunting.

This is called "WarDriving" and can be considered ileagal without permission. :bounce So, Be carefull. 73's- 200

wardriving is not illegal. connecting to the wireless acsess point without permission is. wardriving is just searching for wifi points not connecting.
