You said the radio was Modded..

I am guessing it had a Xtal Mod??



Make sure the X302 xtal is a 22mhz

Also Check the Microprocessor ,

If it is a UC1251, it is that original HR2600 Micro,

If it is not, it may have been replaced with a 2510/Lincoln micro,

or a chipswitch.

There is a surface mount capacitor in series with the 22MHz crystal (underneath the PCB), i have found that this capcitor can fail in older units, causing frequency problems, solder a 100pF ceramic capacitor across the surface mount one and see if that changes anything.



You may also want to check the crystal resinator on the CPU, I think from memory it was a 5MHz, it is right next to it in a dipped packaged, if it is not working properly the CPU wont have a timing signal and may not work correctly.



if you have a frequency counter you could try going through the alignment process and finding which frequencies are not correct, and let us know, that way we can narrow the problem down more.



There are adjsutments on the CPU PCB that are not documented, if these have been changed it can also screw things up a fair bit,, to correct them you need an oscilloscope.

ok, got me a real lemon here, no tnx to the seller <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/frown.gif ALT=":("> ((((



it's does send but on 31.200 mhz, not mather what i adjust or even changing bands.



pressing tx usualy works, sometimes it stops transmitting after say a second (pll unlock?)



someone has tried to modify it and may have messed something up (i undid the mod)



any idears of what might be wrong with this thing (or what not <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)">



also understood the hr 2600 can't be modified so i'm kind of surpriced to find a modded one on ebay (?)

Yeah, The 2600 cannot be modded the same way as the 2510 or Lincoln, The microprocessor does not have the programming beyond 28 & 29 mhz.



The only choices are the Chipswitch, installing a Lincoln or 2510 Micro, or doing an Xtal Mod..



The microprocessor xtal is a 2MHz Resonator.



Check the output of both of the regulators on the Micro PCB,

One is a 5v and one is an 8v.



Let us know what you find.
