hr2600 mic/audio

Anyone using the stock mic for the hr2600?, seems you have to speak very close to the mic , and am use to speaking a few inches away.., anyone using anything else?

Have you tried adjusting the AMC?
or
The AM Mic Gain Mod and readjusting the AMC?

This wont be Booming , but will allow for more AMC adjustment,
from approx 70% to 100%.

You could use the Astatic D104-M6B - I think H&Y had them for $30.

Hi Doc,
The stock mike is not all that sensitive, but I did have one thought on the matter. That 2600 is probably old enough to have some noise in one or more controls/switches.

If you compare the modulation level with the button out to how it sounds pushed in, you should see (hear) a clear difference. If not, maybe that switch has gotten "lazy" and isn't closing the circuit to provide full stock-level mike gain.

I never thought of that one will experiment tomorrow and give a shot of switch cleaner this week.
