Looking pretty seriously at using the Hustler HF antennas on the Dump Truck. Just wanted to get sopme opinions from the guru's first. I think I am going to start with a 40 meter and a 17 meter. Then I will probably start getting more resonators as the budget allows.

Thanks

'FastEddy',

There's not really anything wrong with 'Hustler' antennas, they work as they say they do (minus all the normal sales hype, of course). I'm not a 'fan' of them, but so what? For the bands above 40 meters, you might want to look at the 'HamSticks', little bit cheaper, works just as well, etc. For the lower bands, 80 and 40 meters, the 'HamSticks' aren't quite as 'good' as some other kinds of antennas. None of them are going to be very 'broad'. When you shorten an antenna as much as one is on the lower HF bands, you just can't expect to jump around very much. Have fun...

Well Ed,

A friend of mine just put one on his pick-up and he sounds better than on his base. He has the different center coils for different meters.

Thanks guys,

I know that mobile antennas for the low bands are just a great big dummy load<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/laugh.gif ALT=":lol"> . Just wanting to get something going in the dump truck. Just about to go crazy without my radio, just not much activity on 2 meters during the day.

Mike, got your email. Will send you one right back.
