I would appreciate it if one of the staff could tell me where and how I can post these pdf files where it would do the most good for everyone here...
Looks kind of complicated for the average person. I think I'll just continue the way I've been doing it, but thanks for the info... DanHi Dan,
I just noticed this thread... I started uploading all my Sam's manuals to Internet Archive.
( https://archive.org/login <- same link as sp5it )
Have you considered this site for all your .pdf manuals? It's a great site !
Thanks,
Michael
I appreciate all your info but I still think my way is the easiest way. I scan it and send it to the person that needs it. I still have it in a file for when someone need it again...Some of you may come across the tabs at the bottom, specifically the Rescan Guide. I stuck this in so this could be updated as the thread progresses. However, its a clunky update process but a practical one.
@AudioShockwav or other mods/board owner probably wont want to expose the API in the recommended approach but the Alternative approach would work i believe.
better than nothing eh!
Hey @danmcclain i don't disagree, that's why I said "We are where we are" and i appreciate your dedication to the task.I appreciate all your info but I still think my way is the easiest way. Hi Brandon, could you send me the upload login, please? I have a few files I can contribute.I moved the small backup I started to my server so anyone can grab them. Some of these are from dan's sams thread but I got sidetracked from this project early on.
If anyone wants to add to this, I plan to leave it up as long as I have fiber internet. I have an uploads webpage for uploading to this directory if anyone is interested in adding to it - just DM me for the info. Hopefully this winter I can start backing them up again and fancy up the page a little.
Wow, great list !Hey @danmcclain thanks for all the great work you are doing, possibly a labor of love but whatever the reason its bailed a few out clearly.
The Thread where you provide the scans and attachments Sams PhotoFacts Collection has grown organically and the medium we are on (this message board/ forum) has its benefits and limitations. I can understand why some would suggest Archive.org its a fantastic resource and platform for things like this. But as they say, "We are where we are"
With that in mind I did some work on the Sams PhotoFacts Collection thread and the attachments to try to bring some overview of what we have to date.
Now, i make no apologies or excuses this type of thing is not my happy place so it was a best endeavours scenario. There was also a significant limitation in that Metadata just wasn't there for some of the files, so you will see filename not shown occasionaly but that can be reviewed and updated manually if one so chooses. However, it will still show the page, post, attachment count, file size and the link to the source page. This Metadata issue could be partly to do with how the forum deals with certain attachment types.
If there is one thing that i think would help greatly is continuing to name the attachments you provide with specific detail to the radio at hand and possibly the CB-XXX # associated if present.
Anyway here's the workbook. for those extra careful folk scan it using virustotal or your chosen online scanner for your safety and mine as they say.
P.S. there are definitely some omissions in this as scanning 103 pages and 1400+posts is not guaranteed!
