I ordered rg8 coax got mini 8?

This forum is the most fun place to be. I picked sweep tube amps to learn on, they seemed basic .not like a radio . just amplification and a good place to learn the basics.

I think of mini/RG8X as a compromise. Better loss figures that RG58/U but smaller than RG8/U. The real trick is knowing what length you need to run, what power you want to run and what loss is acceptable... then make the decision.

Roughly > 1.5dB loss in 100ft run at 27 MHz power rating over 500 watts

RG8(9913)
9913 This coax cable provides excellent performance for high power HF needs or VHF/UHF applications. Because of its solid center conductor, it is rather stiff

Impedance: 50 ohms Power Handling: 2200 watts 30 MHz and less
Attenuation: 0.8 dB per 100 ft at 30 MHz and less
