I'm looking for the mod. plan on purchasing the ic-718 and it would be nice to have 11 meters in it. Thank you.
To remove D54 do you unsolder the 2 joints and it will come off?

Or you can desolder and lift one side. Or crush with precision tweezers, not recommended, but I have seen it done.

This is an old Thread, yes but I have a question, "Is there any tuning needed for the 718 to operate on the 11 meter band ?

It's a broad banded radio. The tuning adjustments you would find in older multi-band radios are not needed for this kind of design.

@ BJ radionut:It was a little flat...Sigs were there to work.....Had to wait for the "wave" to crest...then pounce!+1
The 2m guys on EAST COAST TROPO this morning...op's were leaving 6m and working 2m SSB because it was wide open (100m-800m range) ...Even seen reports op's working 200+ miles on FM SIMPLEX(50w and a Stick) also. So interesting day so far
