When running through pro tools it sounded like the station I worked at in my DJ days. Booming bass and a hint of echo. When he ran it on the mic It didn't sound any different then I have heard other 7300. I am not saying its bad in anyway just don't see the point.
If hes doing SSB , the asymod does minimal to the signal. It’s just processed line level audio injected into the BM. Otherwise AM is collector modulated through pre-predriver. Icom’s DSP is pretty tight.
That's my radio. On AM it's amazing on SSB it does give it a little bit of a bump in audio fullness but nothing crazy. The 7300 stock is awesome on SSB already but it lacks in AM but not this one!
How it sounds on ssb is up to the operator, it can give crisp clear wide band audio on ssb.
It all depends on how it's setup and the audio going into it
