ive always been a yaesu fan but i picked up an icom 718 that has the dsp filter installed. its alright. it aint no yaesu hahah. alright anyway, some signals are crystal clear but some have an almost digital sound quality to them. ive turned the nr on and off. changed the level. adjusted the rf, turned on and off the att. changed the filter selections (currently on 52a) from wide to narrow to through. what would cause it to have that digital quality sound? i have not tried unistalling the dsp filter yet.
