Scored a nice little 228A today. Only 5/25 watts. Mic has DTMF on the back side. It's in great shape and works good. Local dudes say audio is nice. Nice to have an older functional 2 meter mobile devoid of nuisance menus.

I think these came out in early 90's. Just thought I'd brag about it.

Just looked at a picture. That IC-22 looks sweet. The analog meter is a nice touch. Basic controls. I like it. Be a good little packet rig.

The older stuff is very well made and just works. I have an IC-38a for 220, the below picture is not mine.

i have a ic 228 mounted on top of my rat rodded cobra 29 in my truck,, not many memory channels but in my area i dont want every repeater,,, it was a cheap buy at 20 dollars with the manual,, had it almost 20 years and it still going,,

my simple 2 meter radio,i prolly shouldnt use it but it belonged to a deceased friend that was an old school ham operator .he died 12 years ago,his widow said your to get licensed n carry on in his shoes. Just wish i coulda got his power supply and antennas . A crew reroofed his widows house n they sorta disappeared
