ICOM PW1 Amplifier

It is best to go into the 7300 menu and increase the RF "tail" issue to the maximum delay time.
It will help to minimize the RF output from the radio into the amp, before the amp is fully keyed up and ready for RF.
I have been operating two 7300's for 6 years with several different types / brands of amplifiers without experiencing that issue. Solid states and tube amplifiers.
But, yes, I am aware of that.

Yes sir, I am aware of what you are referring to.
The menu setting in the radio will delay RF output for a time period, ( all be it very short time period), after the PTT SEND signal is energized.

If you are aware of it, why do you keep talking about key up timing? Is there an unkey delay or something they added in a software update?

I don't see anything in my previous post that I said anything about key up timing.
I believe you just pulled that out of thin air.

The quotes below seem to be about key up. They just seem pretty specific is all. No big deal

I have been using an ICOM PW-1 since 2013 & I LOVE them. I lost my 1st one in 2023 to a nearby lightning strike which also took out my ICOM 7700, 9100, & lots of other gear. I purchased another PW-1,9100, & a New 7610 since the 7700 was not repairable because ICOM no longer has any parts for it. Did I mention I LOVE ICOM Gear?
