Icom sm 8 mic to a Icom ic 7000 ?

Hello Everyone ,
I'm just wondering about the compatibility of this mic and rig.I just dont want to waste my time trying it if it doesn't work. I have seen a couple of charts that show what goes with which etc. I also read that it can work . Anyone have any experience with the sm 8 and an ic 7000? Any input would be great thanks very much.
 

It will work, using either the 8 pin connector or the adapter to the rear RJ modular jack.

FYI, the SM 8 has been discontinued for at least 15 years now, they are decent mics, but,.......

    Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
