Ideas/show and tell for beam style antennas

I'm looking at making a beam style antenna currently i have a 102 whip working just fine for local contacts and some skip but I was wondering if a beam style antenna might boost my contacts and get me heard more from people I can already hear but can't seem to reach. Any info or suggestions are welcome and also drop a handle and general location so if i do get one up I can try and make contact.

Sure you can make your Own Beams. I Made a set of flat side 8 ths worked good.You can too.
