Local radio talk show guys were talking about the big plume of lunar dirt that's going to be blown way up in the "air". They used the word "air" so many times I finally called in and asked them what "air" they were talking about.

Silence at the end of the line, and on the air. That's RADIO air.

A man is being looked for in South Bend Indiana for Bank Robbery.

He was seen wearing a green coat, an eye patch and stocking over long black dread-locked hair, but Redman said the eye-patch and the long hair are likely fake.

A fake eye patch? Huh? Not a real one?

Looks real to me. Maybe un-needed, but what's a fake one?

I'll tell you,after being in the business for over 20 years, I can attest that radio/TV announcers are NOT the most intelligent people in the world. You would think that those who make a living off of their spoken word would at least have decent language skills but such is not the case. I still laugh at the time one of the announcers was reading a public service announcement while I was in the studio. It was regarding a lady's purse that was found in a parking lot. He said "A black lady's purse has been found in the parking lot of.......". After he turned the microphone off I asked him how they knew the purse belonged to a black lady. Of course he should have said "A lady's black purse ...."
