Would bad inductor coils cause symptoms like weak RX and TX? Are the inductor coils near the driver [L34,L32,L33] supposed to be black looking and able to turn on the wire?This is in a Cobra 142GTL.These are the only parts that look like they might be burned in the radio.Everything else seems to check out but I don't have any equipment other than a digital VOM.If someone could provide a photo of the driver section of a working 142 it would help me out greatly.I can't find any pictures or cross reference for these parts.

Bad coils will cause a complete loss of signal in practically all cases, not counting some areas of a tank circuit.
