Sounds like something you would do to win a bet . Im guessing resistance would go up when frozen due to the air trapped in the ice crystals.
A friend an I played with a 2 meter saltwater antenna, hell over a decade ago now. It worked rather well. We didn't have it up in the winter so can't speak to freezing. We did have to take the antenna down and shake it up every now and then or the salt would settle...

Did I miss something in that plan or is there no resonant frequency mentioned for the build? Looks to me to be little more than a salt water dummy load. I've built those and they work but radiate as well as a dummy load should.
