It's me again,

Is the component with the red dot on it ( L 14 ) adjustable?

What is this part referred to as, when ordering a replacement part?

I think that is the coil that balances power output between ch 1 and ch 40. It should be adjusted AFTER L18 & L17. If you have looked at the alignment procedure, it should be explained. It is adjusted after the RF output coils have been peaked. I'll look at the tune-up procedure and check it again.

L10 is used to set the dead key watts @ 4 on ch 19.

There is another coil that looks like that one just to the right and to the back. I think it is L20. DON'T adjust that one for ANY reason. That one adjusts the harmonics and keeps them out of the radio's output. It takes a special piece of VERY expensive equipment to do that adjustment ( a 'spectrum analyzer' - about $4k!). That is one point for any radio that I will not adjust for that reason. Solid advice: leave that one alone.

That is, if the radio is a Cobra 29LTD . . .

Robb,
You are correct L18, L17, then L14.
Some instruct to:
1) Pry off wax to adjust L14
2) Heat wax to adjust L14
How would you handle the wax when making an adjustment(s) to L 14?
