So my recent attempted purchase of a Radioiddity QT80 on ebay for $200 has fallen through. I got concerned after the seller didn't ship after 4 days. When he finally responded he discovered .... which he should have known .... that being a newer seller with less than their prerequisite number of successful transactions .... that he wasn't going to be paid by ebay right away. After you meet their minimum requirements (which I long since have), you get your money in 3 days. But before then, they are making newer sellers wait longer.
Dude gives me his sob story about being broke and can't afford to ship for another 2 week when he gets paid from his work (seeing as he isn't getting my money sooner).
So I don't want to wait and started the process on cancelling the order. I'll get my money back.
.
So members here not knowing eBay's current "new seller" payment policies need to know what to expect ..... and I am now undecided about which way to go with the next radio. I've been without a HF rig for 2 years. Rooster Radio has Q6 Pros for $259 but I may hold out and save up more for more for the Icom 7300. I've had 746's in the past. I'm retired and am not swimming in disposable income and have to save up for hobby things.
.
My other observation is just b*tching again about eBay holding even Best Seller's money for 3 days. Besides collecting their high fees, they keep even their best customer's money in their bank drawing interest for 3 days which makes them more millions no doubt across the platform. And here in this case they will be holding my money for more than a week drawing interest for themselves. It's sad that eBay went to shit like this several years back.
