The Viking Mobile is crystal controlled and was sold as an under-dash mobile transmitter in the 1950s. It uses seven vacuum tubes with an 807 final amplifier, modulated by a pair of push-pull 807s. It uses an external dynamotor power supply, and yes, the rare companion dynamotor is included with this transmitter. It supplies 400V and 800V DC for the transmitter. This unit is either factory wired, or it was done as a kit by an expert.

I have seen maybe 2-3 of those over the years at HAMFESTS. I have always looked past them as they never had a power supply.
I won't pass again if I see one reasonable, as I know now I have all the "stuff" to build the external supply. I even have a BUD box(newer vintage than the one he used)and all the other goodies to make it.
The kicker is the crystals, but with some searching may find something to use for 10 meter AM frequency.
That would be a fun project, coupled with an old receiver like the Knightkit R-100A, I have started to recap and restore, but placed on the back burner to finish off other projects.
Hmmm, just remembered I have a Knightkit T-60 transmitter in the barn!!
OH GREAT another project! Just what I need!
All the Best
