my old 135 has been sitting idle for a few years and i somehow forgot the code to allow it to tx out of band, the mod on mods.dk does not work on my jrc and i cannot find any other mod listed anywhere,
fortunately i remembered the code for mine and im cooking on gas again,

press memo and funcham together
press 140 then press enter then press 1 and key the mic,

(memo/funcham) 140 enter 1

that works on mine and if i ever forget again i have somewhere to find it lol..

Ah good 'ol keypad mods. Gotta luv 'em. Reminds me of the AR3500. Had to go through like a 21 step routine...precisely now...don't mess up...but then you got the extra frequencies. What a riot

If you ever see a 245, they are made very well like the FT-1000D was, old era Japanese quality at their peak before they started outsourcing to China like everyone else has.

Just got a jst 135 for the collection (i collect jrc) and did a google search on the mars mod.

That linked me to this site, and there we are....5 years later...amazing isnt it

Ill try it later, at least now know where too look.

i like my jrc too henry, its a keeper, a jst135 and that vertical is a RARE setup

Mod worked perfectly, but power on/off it cleared the mod. Had to repeat the process again. Oh well, I only wanted to see if it worked since I only hang out on the ham bands anyway

I have to push the buttons every day for cb band, I use a ts850 with dsp100 on hf

Interesting company. They were based out of NY, unlike most of the other Japanese companies on the west coast. There was a place rather close to me called Gilfer shortwave. They were the prime dealer of JRC around here. The guy that worked there, actually went to work for JRC, as I saw him at Dayton at their booth. They weren't around too much longer.

I never owned one. Almost a few times, but never did. I was familiar with the GE stuff, that JRC made for them. Bulletproof stuff....MPA, MPD, Rangr
