I'm east of Burbank a little ways, right along the mountain that gets in the way to that location. 28 is where it's at over here, although I'm not sure how well you'll be able to get your signal around the mountain. I rarely hear anyone from there on CB, though because of that mountain.
Dial it around in the evenings and let me know what you find...I have some friends that live over there so I get that direction once in a while. Maybe I can give you a shout out.
I live north of los angeles and can say that channel 12 is used in the san fernando valley.
But the level of activity is not like that on 17 in south-east LA and OC.
28 is only used further east.
There are also tons of mexicans on 5, 7 and who knows where else.
Is it possible to be on a lake and have a homing directional beam being emitted from the shore so a person could navigate to that beam's source? For example at night to a jetty.
