I think it is staged. At least I hope it is. The saw teeth are not blurred as they would be if the saw was running. Either that or the photog was using a really fast shutter speed. I have pictures of a C140 climbing out of a take-off with the props froze by using 1/1000'th second shutter speed. My new camera will go to 1/4000'th second.

You should never stand on one leg to saw wood, especially rip saw! You could lose your balance and really hurt yourself!
