Here's my 2 most used setups

1 - Galaxy 55 / Galaxy 2HD / Wilson 1000

2 - Galaxy 33 / Texas Star 350 / Wilson 1000

Looking for a Mic that will do well with either setup - These radios are in my pickups so road noise is really not a problem.

Considering the Astatic 575 - Any suggestions???

Also for those using a 575 - How are you setting the mic gain on the radio and the volume and tone on the mic? Are you changing the settings when you use your amp?

I've tried quite a few microphones. I always end up back with the Astatic 575. Great mic, you definitely can't go wrong with that one. I'm even considering getting another to be permanently hooked up to the base.

Yeah with the 575, I have the mic gain up all the way on my 2995, but my 99 just won't take that, so it's down at about 9:00.

GONO2,

I have been using the D104M6B in my PU with great results. I had it on a SS3900 first and now use it on my HR2600. Never had the 575, but I always get plenty of flowers with my present setup. JMHO. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/wink.gif ALT=";)">

I've tried a bunch so far. Always come back to my trusted Astatic 636L. The power pics I've tried never seem to work with any of my set ups. I don't like the RK56 at all.

Good luck!, Hossless<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/roll.gif ALT=":rollin"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/wink.gif ALT=";)">

Thanks for the input - I ordered a 575 this AM and will see how it works...

Tim,

I have the Astatic RD 104 {road Devil} on both my Lincoln and my Galaxy 44. My settings on the 44 mirror what Triple J's are on his 88. I have always gotten good reports on the Audio. You can't go wrong with the 575, it has an excellent track record.

Double check the screw on the strain relief. I know of a couple of times when the wires came loose because the screw was not tight.

I have a 636L on my Galaxy 77 and have had no complaints! Mic gain is about 2 o'clock on the 77. I am learning to use a 575 on the Delta Force and I'm starting to like it! May put it on the HR2600 when I install it!
