What kind of wattmeter are you seeing the PEP output on? That seems like a lot of power from a 300A ?looking to trade my Palomar 300A with spare tubes for an HF radio on am i'm seen 850 Pep with a Cobra 29 ltd classic

Still seems high for that amp. Have you ever looked at it on a scope? I have not read the specs on those tubes in a very long time either but I could be wrong about what it should be putting out?bird meter with pep kit
with my Cobra 2000 and 148, i was seen 260 rms close to 680 rms maybe i need to check the 9-volt batteryStill seems high for that amp. Have you ever looked at it on a scope? I have not read the specs on those tubes in a very long time either but I could be wrong about what it should be putting out?
Does it have the 6LF6 tubes or is it an older model? I believe there were three different tube variations over the years & maybe four? Some converted to the 8950's but they cost an arm & a leg now so not very smart. I was thinking 500 to 600 was about the Top of the output for them but again it's been a very long time since I kept up with them.with my Cobra 2000 and 148, i was seen 260 rms close to 680 rms maybe i need to check the 9-volt battery
