Dear colleague:
I need to help with information on how to proceed in the maintenance of my FT 857D, radio new but, as the announcement of the radio, mine in transmission TX, only sends a power of excitement of approximately 15 – 20 W, and that is for 100% or 100W, transistors outgoing are ok, but it seems that there is a safety device, which blocks the power, as if the SWR was high, but it is not! Grateful for any information!

On the power cable there are three wires, red, black, and brown. If the brown wire is connected to 12 volts the radio is limited to 20 watts output. Check that first. Also does your power supply have enough current to make 100 watts? It should be able to supply 20-25 amps.

I was thinking he may have high SWR causing the power cutback but he would still see more than 20 watts

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
