Magnum Delta Force issues.

My tech in Quartzsite az favors that radio above all other modern ones. He kinda specializes in working on magnums. You could email him. He is fine tune electronics on the white list. There is a link there to his site.
 
I can't tell you exactly where the problem is.... I've never worked on one of these. But if they are similar to other ssb radios the rf final might have 2 different voltages. On some ssb radios the final will runn off of 8 volts in am mode and 12 volts in ssb mode. It might not be the case with this radio.
Check for voltage at the final in ssb mode.
Again I've never worked on one before so I'm not much help... but at least its something to check out. It certainly could be the problem.

    Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
