YES, i think you would be very pleased with it! I had one with a crappy tune up and it did GREAT, just imagine what one would do with the right one!!!

If you buy one stock, and try to convert it, be very careful. The channel selector will come off, along with the insides of the pot itself. Just a warning.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)">

Yeah,

I was amazed on how easy the conversion appers to be.

I stumbled onto it in cbtricks {I believe}.

I guess I'll leave my DF horror stories to myself then. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)">

I tell you what. I will talk with my tech (he works with them), and I will let him tell me a few of the stories, and what the problems were. I will say this. When I worked at EEI, we received back a higher percentage of DF's and AF's than any other radio. I like the 257 and 357. Both were, IMO, great radios for the size, and they had very few problems. The Force radios had a lot of problems. But, before I say too much, or too little, I will talk with my tech and find out the details.

</p>

My tech gave me a copy of his RMA database. In this database, there is a list of problems that he experienced on each radio that came back. In this compilation, there is a report on every radio curently available, and some not available. When he repaired or replaced a radio, he would explain what the radio was doing, if it was repairable, and if it was, what had to be done to repair it. The database goes back to 1998 and is updated on a regular basis. He believes that by righting down what each radio does, or did, he can better understand each manufacturer's design, and also know what to look for in certain models. I will wait until this is ready before I post the information.

One thing I would like to point out. Ramko, Lesco, A1, MJ Products, Dragon, No Frills, and others do not stock these radios, not any other radio by Magnum International. Just something to think about.

I am the furthest thing from a tech, But I have been through a few radios. Cobra 2000, 142,148 gtl, unidens, an so on and this Delta Force has operated flawlessly, unbelieveable echo (if your into that<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/wink.gif ALT=";)"> ) I agree with Lucky.....

<blockquote>Quote:<hr> Hey Pacetronics,

It seems like your motives are more than just the Delta Force radio.<hr></blockquote>

I don't get that statement. Please explain.

<blockquote>Quote:<hr> I don't know you, I have talked to you on the phone when you worked for EEI.<hr></blockquote>

Cool. I think I remember you. I know I remember your username.

<blockquote>Quote:<hr> You gave me the sales pitch about you would sale this radio to your the future Father-In-Law. <hr></blockquote>

You must have bought a Super star 3900HP Gold. That was the only radio I ever said that about, and that is because I actually bought him one.

Unless it was said in jest.

<blockquote>Quote:<hr> I did have to get that radio retuned by someone else. So what you and your Tech. come up with won't hold any water as far as I am concerned.<hr></blockquote>

We did have some techs for a short period of time that weren't worth the money we paid them. They were fired. Unfortunately, that was not before every messageboard was full of discussions about the radios. The tech I use, however, never had these problems. As many of you remember, all EEI tuned radios had the initials of the tech that worked on them listed somewhere. In the 4 years he worked there, he only had 6 radios come back. Call it luck, but it happened. Also, I have had 3 radios come back that he worked on. Only 3. 2 had defects, and the third had a broken wire. That's not bad. But, I don't blame you for being cautious.

One other thing. I would be willing to bet that my tech has worked on more radios in the last 4 years than most techs have in the last 10. EEI may have screwed a lot of people, but they did that because they had a lot of orders. The money was not managed correctly, but there were a lot of radios sold while EEI was in business. Many of these radios were worked on by him.

<blockquote>Quote:<hr> I own a Delta Force, and am fairly happy with it. It works pretty good. I like the Echo & Talk Back. As always these are just my opinions, Jeff aka Lucky <hr></blockquote>

I am fine with this. However, I have known Bobby longer than most of you, most likely. He asked an honest question, and I tried to give him an honest answer. I know a lot of people that have had good experiences with Delta Forces, and that is cool. However, I have honestly not had any luck with them, and I have sold a lot of them. I quit selling them when I couldn't trust them. I don't carry them now, and I could. I just can't sell them with a good conscience. I don't think that is a bad thing. But you know how it is, once something leaves a bad taste in your mouth, it takes a lot to get it out. Of course, I guess that's why some of you still don't trust me. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)">

<blockquote>Quote:<hr> Ramko and MJ have Delta's in most of the time.<hr></blockquote>

MJ is too high and everytime I have looked for them, they are out.And Ramko is out of stock so much. But you are right, you can get them there. BTW, thanks for what you did today. I appreciate it. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/happy.gif ALT=":D">

I also have other information as to why I wouldn't recommend a Magnum radio, but I will not post it here. I'm sure many of you know anyway.

</p>

I'm sorry if I came across that way. That was not my intentions at all. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)">

</p>

OK, I for one was enjoying the discussion on the various tech's experiences with the Delta Force. I'm also interested in the whole question of the quality of the Magnum product line. This is partially because I own two already, and was considering whether or not a Delta Force would be a radio I might like to purchase.

I am interested in what David has to say on the subject, and what RR has to say, and anyone else for that matter. But...... The discussion needs to stay centered on the product and the tech's experiences with the product. If you're gonna start bad mouthing whatever mods a tech did on your radio, then take it over to the business transaction section. It doesn't belong here. You cannot blame David or RR for defending themselves when people make off topic posts about how qualified their tech is to mod a radio. That has nothing to do with the quality of the radio itself when it came from the factory.

Now, I still want to hear ALL the experiences with the Delta Force, and the other Magnum units. Keep it on topic folks............It's not Dave's or RR's fault it got on another subject.

That's all I'm trying to do. But like I said, i have to wait until I can doa little research on the database. Also, as I said before, this database is updated on a regular basis. This means that a repair he makes on any current model will go in the database.

Hey Bobby, cool new sig ya got there <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)">
