Hi all, firstly I apologise if this is posted in the wrong place. I'm currently doing a Mars rover project for university (just a concept design.) Basicly I am tasked with coming up with a communication system capable of relaying data back to Martian satellites from a rover on the surface. Atm the information I have is datalink can be open for about 20 mins transferling 70mb and at a range of approximately 100 200 miles to the satellite from the rover. The main considerations for this design are weight and volume. If there is any other information needed I will try to provide it. Hope one of you guys can help.

Here is a link to a site to help you determine what type of antenna you may want to use once you've chosen a transmitter frequency. I'm assuming from your post it would be one way communication from the rover up-link?

Try starting a new thread in the Amplifier section and asking the question, more people will see it to respond.
