No... it looks like an IMPROVED star duster! The coax connection alone is far superior to the starduster's.

In what way is this antenna an improvement over the original? Does the coax connector make it get out better?

The odd part of the starduster was how the coax fed in there, inside the mounting pipe. What happens if the end goes bad? Well you then would have to disassemble the whole damn thing to fix the coax PL 259 end!!!


If I where given a starduster, I would cut it up and make a few scanner antennas out of the pieces.


..and as much as metal prices go, antenna prices will go up even further if market trends upward.

Too Much Hype on a copy of a existing antenna..and the merlin is not worth $265+Ship!
A 102 in Whip would probably work better!
