Military Spec 2SC2879

Yes, photocopied from the Motorola and Toshiba Datasheets - directly...

Just the Whiteout done to the Logos were changed to protect the innocent...

Mil spec generally indicates a couple of details not part of a component's "industrial" grade specs.

Testing, to start. Adds labor, and thus cost. Will be indicated by a numeric code for that testing spec.

Operating-temperature range. MIl spec will be a wider range of cold to hot over which the part is guaranteed to still perform.

This is generally achieved by batch-testing what comes off the production line and sending the parts that flunk to the "industrial-spec" bin. Again, added labor and cost.

Never knew a component source who would conceal this kind of official qualification.
