mod for receive audio to come out of PA speaker. (RCI/Galaxy)

OK, worked on a Connex 3300HP that had no PA or Echo.
the problem was in the echo board, and I replaced it.
Now PA works. and echo works, but he does not use that.

But........

this guy claims that while he is outside of his truck, in PA mode,
he can get radio calls also in the PA speaker on his Connex 3300HP,
then he goes into his truck and turn to AM Mode to return any calls.

another guy in town said that the Cobra radios work that way.
and I have a China-made 148 here and in PA mode the received
calls also come out the PA speaker.

So this guy brought in another Connex 3300HP and also said
it used to work that way, receive audio out of his externally
mounter PA speaker on his truck. But now they quit doing this. ??????

so is there an established "mod" to make these radios do
this? have receive audio come out of the PA jack.
I see on the S-meter the Connex is still receiving while in PA.

or I can figure something out. have the receive audio
go to the echo/PA MIC switching circuit. But the User Manual
as well as the schematic does not support his claims.
I told him about putting a switch on the speaker wiring,
or unplugging the external speaker when he gets back in his truck.
But.......... he insists.

this guy called another guy here in town, and told me to
"ask that Nomad Radio guy" about this.

this guy has lots of radios, so I think he got his Cobras mixed up
with his Connex/RCI/galaxy radios.

Ought to be, but I don't have it the can to whip out. The schematic shows the mode switch connecting the ground side of the external and internal speaker only for AM and FM modes. In PA mode it breaks the ground to the internal speaker and ext jack, connects ground to the PA jack.

Bypassing that would get you receieve audio from the PA jack all the time, in CB and PA modes both. Haven't seen your version of this trick worked out. Seems like it would require a relay, maybe? Too late in the day to tackle it right now.
