Modding PLL UPD858 in Midland 77-883

Someone remind me where I read about upgrading the am and other regulators on these to a 2n6487g? I Was looking at this it doesn't cross back to an nte152 or ecg66 like other sites have suggested so where did I get this one from??

I should have noticed that. Connect the switch to the 858 chip as shown below. Solder the switch wires directly to the 858 pin solder pads. Use 1N194 diodes or equiv. Observe polarity. Sorry ... my bad.

Is this in addition to the cut traces bridged with 4.7k resistors? Ignoring the earlier switch hook up?

Is this after all the cuts and resistors are added?? And are we still using a DPDT center-off type switch at this point? I'm working on the 23-channel version, but the layout looks the same.
