Here are a few pics from the Santa Ana Response Team field day event that I attended. The group was made up of emergency responders including the American Red Cross, Navy MARS, Coast Guard Auxilliary, and several other organizations and individuals. There were a lot more stations and antennas than I captured on film.

Coast Guard Auxilliary operating mostly VHF/UHF:

Interesting antenna used by Coast Guard. I'm not sure what this is:

Gordon West's mobile van with various yagis in the air:

Gordon West's other mobile with HiQ antenna on the back and 6 meter Superantenna Yagi on the push up mast:

This is the brand of push up mast that many stations were using. It is very well made:

2m/440 yagi:

Make-shift 2m/440 station with mag mount antenna on a cookie sheet:

Cushcraft MA5B 10-20 meter beam:

One of the many wire antennas - an OCF dipole:

Bicycle 2m/440 station:

My Jeep station setup, ready to operate:

Hi-Q antenna with a 12' whip...Excellent on 20 & 40 meters!

Ladder line and dipole set up as a make shift ground radials attached to jeep:

Jumper cables used to attached the dipole to jeep for ground radials:

Another yagi in the air. I never found out what this was:

Yep, Ringo and a squalo, or that's what they look like.

Nice setups-- I like the jumper cables from the Jeep to the radials!
